Michael G. Kanosky, MD, is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He performs cosmetic surgery for breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, body contouring after weight loss, and facial rejuvenation as well as breast reductions and reconstructive surgical procedures. He also performs laser procedures for the treatment of veins, skin lesions, scar revisions, and skin tightening.
Dr. Kanosky received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. Following an internship and general surgery residency in New Orleans at Charity Hospital and Louisiana State University Medical Center affiliated hospitals, he completed a research fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery and residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. In 1993 he received and now maintains an appointment as Clinical Instructor, Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
In addition, Dr. Kanosky is a member of several of the most respected organizations in the medical profession. He served as President of the Mississippi State Chapter of the American College of Surgeons from 2003 through 2006, Fellow and Governor of the American College of Surgeons, and he enjoys membership in the ASPS, Board of State Affairs, American Society for Plastic Surgery, Mississippi Medical Society, and the Mississippi State Medical Political Action Committee.
Dr. Kanosky has written several articles and abstracts published in peer review journals and has lectured and presented at various societies and teaching organizations. Dr. Kanosky’s hospital affiliations include Woman’s Hospital at River Oaks, River Oaks Hospital, Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital, Central Mississippi Medical Center, Rankin Medical Center, River Region Medical Center, and the Plastic Surgery Center of Mississippi.
Dr. Kanosky and his wife Charmain reside in Jackson. His interests include tennis, chess, historical events, reading, gardening, collecting artwork, and involvement with charity work.
