Breast Reconstructive Procedures

Breast reconstruction is a type of surgery for women who have had all or part of a breast removed.  The surgery rebuilds the breast mound so that it is about the same size and shape as it was before.  Click here for more information.

*Insurance covered if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • All breast cancer patients to produce symmetry
  • Patients with congenital asymmetry due to Poland’s syndrome (absence of the chest muscle)

 

 

Breast Reductions

Breast reduction removes excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body and to alleviate the discomfort associated with overly large breasts. Click here for more information.

*Insurance covered if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • Pain in the back, neck and shoulders
  • Skin breakdown and/ or intertigo (Inflammation or rash in the body folds)
  • Functional impairment (trouble exercising, walking, standing)
  • A minimum amount of tissue or grams is required to be removed based on height and weight

 

 

Nasal Reconstructive Procedures

Nasal reconstruction repairs nasal deformities due to trauma, cancer, and malformed or missing nasal anatomy. It is most commonly done after nasal injuries.

*Insurance may cover nasal procedures if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • Deviated nasal septum
  • Trauma
  • Congenital defects
  • Air-way obstruction

 

 

Upper Blepharoplasty and Endo-Brow Lift

For the upper eyelids, excess skin and fat are removed through an incision hidden in the natural eyelid crease.  If the lid is droopy, the muscle that raises the upper lid can be tightened. Click here for more information.

*Insurance covered if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • If the sagging upper eyelid skin obstructs peripheral vision
  • Visual field tests by an eye doctor that specifies you would receive a 24-30% improvement .

 

 

Symptomatic Scar Revision

*Insurance covered if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • Chronic skin breakdown
  • Painful scar with tethered adhesions
  • Caused by trauma or injury

 

 

Vascular Malformation

Vascular malformations are abnormal clusters of blood vessels that occur during fetal development.  Although these lesions are always present at birth, they may not be visible until weeks or even years after birth.

*Insurance covered if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • Itchy
  • Painful
  • Symptomatic

 

 

Panniculectomy

Removal of excess skin around the abdominal region.

*Insurance covered if the following are relevant:

  • Pannus (apron of abdominal skin) must hang below the pubis to the thigh
    • Intertigro (Inflammation or rash in the body folds)
    • Panniculitis or skin breakdown

 

 

Botox

Botox is a purified protein toxin produced by clostridium botulinum bacteria.  Botox is a toxin; however, if is used in extremely small amounts, it is especially effective in relaxing the “expression” lines found around the eyes and forehead and also decreasing the effects of migraine headaches.  Click here for more information.

*Insurance covered  if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • Must have had extreme testing and be seen and referred by a neurologist
  • Following treatment by a neurologist , you must have failed 3 medications for treatement
  • Cervical Dystonia (excessive pulling of the muscles of the neck and shoulder)

 

 

Gynocomastia

Male Breast Reduction.  This procedure removes breast or glandular tissue that is uncommon in men.

*Insurance covered if some or most of the following are relevant:

  • Endocrine work up is present and is negative
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Is not the result of Obesity
  • Is not drug induced
