Who doesn’t want to look their best? After the holidays, most of us begin planning for summer vacations and warm weather. Before the warm weather arrives, you should make plans now to be prepared. Now is the time to make an appointment with your board-certified plastic surgeon. Although you may feel that it is too early to begin planning for summer, keep in mind that while some techniques provide immediate results, most take weeks for the full benefits to become apparent. Start planning now with this list of top five procedures to get you ready for summer.

Dermal Fillers

Approximately $550-$600 per treatment

Juvederm, Restylane, and Voluma are all in the dermal filler family. Created from collagan-renewing substances such as Hyaluronic Acid, fillers plump wrinkles, smooth ache scars, lift tissues, and restore volume under the eyes or across the cheeks. After receiving dermal fillers, a patient may see a bit of swelling and bruising for the first few days. Dr. Kanosky advises patients to get dermal fillers about a week before an important event in order for them to be looking their best.

Botox

$11 per unit – Average treatment $350 -$450

Botox temporarily weakens muscles, relaxing wrinkles. Botox targets dynamic facial lines, or those caused by repetitive expressions, including Crow’s Feet, forehead creases, and frown lines. As the muscles release, the face will look younger and more refreshed. Although Botox is often used to lessen the appearance of fine lines, Dr. Kanosky also sees patients that receive Botox treatments for other issues as well. According to Dr. Kanosky, Botox is used to treat migraines, excessive sweating (palms or armpits), and even muscle switching in areas such as the face and neck. “In three days, a patient can see their best results from the Botox,” says Dr. Kanosky.

Liposuction

$2500 (Pricing may vary based on area treated. Estimated price based on abdomen only)

No matter your size or body type, fatty deposits can appear on anyone. Liposuction is an outpatient procedure that provides excellent body sculpting results, eliminating excess fat on the areas that bother us most—upper arms, abdomen, flanks, lower back, thighs, and the chin. “Although all liposuction cases vary depending on how extensive of a treatment that you receive, typically within in six weeks, you will be able to see your best and final results,” says Dr. Kanosky.

Blepharoplasty

Approximately $3,000 (This procedure may be covered by your insurance)

If you feel that the delicate skin of your upper eyelid has become saggy causing your eyes to look tired, uninterested, and unhealthy—maybe a blepharoplasty is the procedure for you. A blepharoplasty or eyelid lift is a surgical procedure designed to eliminate this tissue, creating a brighter more awake look to the appearance. The blepharoplasty can also help eliminate dark circles and under eye “bags” by addressing the loose fat pads that pull downward both above and below the eye. Dr. Kanosky says, “In most patients, your head and neck heal faster than other parts of your body; therefore, a patient will usually see their best results at the four week mark.”

Breast Augmentation

$3700

Adding volume and shape as well as creating a more proportionate figure, a breast augmentation can increase your breast size a lot or just a little depending on your personal goals. The natural looking results will appear lifted and youthful, accentuating the waist and hips. According to Dr. Michael Kanosky, “In most cases, the best results from breast augmentation can be seen in patients within six weeks.”
