About the Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian butt lift is one of the most popular cosmetic enhancement procedures on the market today thanks to its fat transferring approach and stunning results. At The Face & Body Center, our talented surgeons can utilize this procedure to take excess fat away from unwanted areas such as the stomach and inject it into the buttocks. Not only will this slim other areas of your body, but it will also provide cosmetic enhancement for your buttocks, offering a fuller, more volumized look associated with the Brazilian beaches. If you're interested in enhancing your curves, then we invite you to schedule a consultation with one of our surgeons today at our Flowood, MS practice.

What to Expect

The Brazilian butt lift is an outpatient procedure performed in an accredited surgical facility (under general anesthesia) for several hours or longer if there are multiple areas of fat that are receiving liposuction. All incisions made for the Brazilian butt lift are very small and the fat is injected in layers with a syringe. Once the procedure is complete and you are in the recovery room, you will not be able to sit or lie down on your back for at least 2 – 3 weeks. You can expect to be swollen and bruised as well, but will see your beautiful results in 6 – 8 weeks.

Anticipated Results

Many patients choose a Brazilian butt lift because they want their new curves to look and feel natural, plus they do not want an implant. The disadvantage to using body fat instead of an implant is that there is a higher chance that the fat may be reabsorbed into the body, deflating the fat grafting site. Your surgeon will usually add more fat than you need for your desired look to account for the initial fat reabsorption. You should keep in mind that any major fluctuations in weight (gain or loss) will affect the aesthetics of the surgery.

About Us

How much does a Brazilian butt lift cost?
The total cost for your Brazilian butt lift (BBL) includes the cost of both liposuction and fat transfer surgery, anesthesia, facility fees, plus care before and after your surgery. Once Dr. Barraza has created your surgical plan, he will be able to give you cost estimates. We want you to concentrate on choosing a plastic surgeon you feel comfortable with, like Dr. Barraza, so we'll work with you to make your Brazilian butt lift easy to afford. The Face & Body Center of Plastic and Hand Surgery Associates takes several payment methods and we can help you find low-interest medical financing.

Should I get implants or a fat transfer?
If you want to increase the volume of your buttocks, you get butt augmentation with either implants or fat grafting, which is commonly called a Brazilian butt lift. During your consultation, Dr. Barraza will talk to you about both options and help you choose which is better based on your physique and wants. He will also examine your body to find the best areas with excess fat that would get liposuction (usually the back, stomach, or thighs). You may not be a candidate for a BBL if your body fat percentage is too low.

How long will my results last?
Although some fat might be reabsorbed after the Brazilian butt lift, the majority of the fat will remain in their new location for many years. To keep your results, you need to keep your weight steady because significant weight loss or gain will affect the results of the surgery. This is why Dr. Barraza suggests you be at or near a healthy, stable weight prior to your Brazilian butt lift so it is easy for you to maintain.

How can I recover faster after a BBL?
If you want to minimize your healing time after a BBL, Dr. Barraza or someone on his team will give you post-surgical instructions. You will need to avoid sitting on your butt for at least two weeks as the area heals. Dr. Barraza suggests you buy a donut-shaped or nursing pillow, which lets you sit down with pressure placed on your thighs rather than your buttocks. Light stretching and short walks will help to improve your blood flow and reduce inflammation. Dr. Barraza may also recommend a lymphatic drainage massage to speed your healing.

Will a Brazilian butt lift remove loose skin?
While it's called a Brazilian butt lift, this name is a little deceiving because it is not actually a butt lift (gluteoplasty), which addresses loose skin from the buttocks. However, the new volume added to your buttocks during a Brazilian butt lift can fill some of the loose skin. If you are concerned about moderate or severe loose skin in your butt, you may want a butt lift with a Brazilian butt lift. Dr. Barraza will discuss your options based on your needs and concerns during your consultation.
